Baldr (バルドル Barudoru?) is Floki's grandson. He enjoys fishing, and makes his own fishing rods.

History[]

Baldr's parents were both assassinated as a result of political struggles within the Jomsvikings. His grandfather Floki is fiercely protective of him and wants him to become the next leader of the Jomsvikings, but Baldr himself has no desire for leadership and chafes against the limits put on his freedom in the name of security.

Baldr is more aware of the politics surrounding him than Floki realizes, and he works together with certain servants to help free Gudrid and the others after they are imprisoned within Floki's fortress[1]. When Gudrid offers him the chance to come with them on their voyage, Baldr notes that he had never considered it before they're interrupted by guards. He later reveals that his true desire is for the Jomsvikings and everything else to be destroyed, finally ending the wars that have consumed his life.

When Thorfinn is overcome by rage towards Floki, his father's killer, Baldr protects Floki by offering his own life, and declaring that as he is the reason for all of Floki's scheming, he is the one to blame for not being able to stop his grandfather. He reveals that he is aware of Floki's underhanded actions, and that when he heard about the assassination of Thors, he didn't even question whether Floki was capable of such a thing.

After Thorfinn disbands the Jomsvikings, Baldr is freed to leave Jomsborg by boat, accompanied by a few servants who sympathized with him, and by his now completely disenfranchised grandfather. He is last seen comforting Floki and encouraging him to start fishing for dinner.
