Oh, thanks :> I actually saw it, since I got mails and stuff, but couldn't edit or login, since I was at work.
Yeah, I was going to talk with you about the colors, since that orange was kinda annoying. Although I prepared a background image that would have fit with it: http://www.imagebam.com/image/24745f318633513 Don't know how good it is.
There are not many colored images for Vinland Saga and especially good ones that can be used for background. My other idea is to use Chapter 17 color page and make vikings on both sides.
Both of those images are really really cool, I don't think they need any improvement, so I'd say go for it :P I just changed the colors here temporarily because I really hated the orange background and I was trying to think of what colors to use in the main page.
Yeah, know that feeling, but I haven't read the whole main series and not a single spin-off/side story. It's just too much information I lack at to moment :>
Btw, when you add your affiliates or of other people, I don't mind pushing my wikis down. I only wish if possible for Toriko and Terra Formars to be somewhere up, all others you can push them down when you add yours or other people's request.
Oh, alright, well come over once you've read the series then =) And well, I add your wikis above mine because way too many of mine really lack content while yours are in a better state. Toriko and Terra Formars of course are getting the top spots because they are about popular series, especially Toriko.
Sorry for late reply, didn't have much tim for wikia yesterday.
Some of mine are also not really developed too :> I meant with the comment that if someone requests affiliation or you add yours, that you can push mines down and to not worry that it will make me angry, annoyed or anything like that.
Yeah, no worries, I don't even remember logging in wikia yesterday. I was tired and went to sleep around 20:00 XD and also today I slept quite a lot too and still feel sleepy and lazy XD
Yeah, I planned to ask Sxerks for him from quite some time, but was lazy. And finally today, I decided to start some conversation about it. Since most of the wikis he requested, he not only don't edit, but they don't have animanga template and navigation link, while he stated they had... And also 2 requests per month, something that Sxerks told me I can't do (even though I didn't done it, but probably he expected I may do).
I also wanted to tell him about it but I wasn't sure if I really should, but since you started it I found it a good opportunity to bring that up too :D Hopefully the new spots won't be taken too soon. Well...they can take September for all i care, I don't wanna have my wiki's wordmark next to Bible Black one >_>
Yeah, I kinda felt you used it as opportunity or seeing my comment there, remembered that you wanted to say that XD
Oh yeah, forgot about bible black. Wonder why is it even on animanga... I was thinking of August or January, but still haven't decided on asking for something. Oh and just saw that August is already taken, but no worries XD
Yeah, when that dude made the page, I was going to mark it for deletion but I expected Sxerks would delete it upon seeing it...well, I'll just try to avoid being featured along with that wiki I guess :D Still dunno how they can make a legit wiki about that...
I'm not sure what else I have and should be featured, I guess I'll leave the spots until I get something that is actually worth it. Having your Drifters wiki spotlighted right now would probably get some more editors with all those releases this week but eh, the next empty spots are months later :/
Yeah, I checked it back then and it was kinda clean, didn't had any bad images, but now it got some at close call.
I rarely likes ecchi as main genre, but time to time some ecchi surfaces that picks up my interest. Kangoku Gakuen is such, but knowing I can't upload sexy pics and such, makes it only to be a text wiki, which is boring and thus I haven't made that wiki. Someday I may make it, but I'm holding down for now XD
For Drifters I got spotlight in January and it's high amount of requests, so I need to wait a year for it again. I got 2-3 editors recently actually, mostly after the release of the new chapters. Of the rest wikis I'm part, I will probably request for Ninja Scroll at some point, since there are supposed to be also other projects about it, so if I time it right, I may get 1-2 editors, if not when a new movie or anime starts, they will come themselves XD
Hmm I only went to that wiki a few times for fun just to see how they handle it, I also don't really love ecchi manga, but sometimes they are enjoyable. Still, I wouldn't be able to make a wiki about stuff like Minamoto-kun Monogatari since it's too smut to make a wiki about..even text only wiki.. Oh, well having more people on Drifters wiki is cool (Y) I really enjoy this series a lot and it deserves an active wiki :P Hmm, I always thought that Ninja Sroll was the alternative name for Basilisk until you adopted both wikis and I realized they are different things :D I'm not an anime fan but I might check that one out along with some other must-watch ones (Baccano, Bepop etc) since I've heard many good things about it.
There was something that forces you to confirm if you are 18+ and over, before opening up a wiki, but don't know if that can help such wikis.
Now that you mention it, in reality if someone don't know very much about those 2 series and is given only some key aspects, he can really think they are the same :> I started as anime fan and my first anime I realized that they were anime were Ninja Scroll movie and Vampire Hunter D and they were awesome. Ninja Scroll TV is kinda lame compared to the movie; there is also american comics about it, but it's not that good either.
I too haven't seen it since quite some time, but I also forgot where I saw it in the first place XD
At the time I started watching, there wasn't HOTD or TTGL. But I too watched Naruto, Bleach, OP early when I got into anime and got even more hooked. Also because of those, I started reading 666 Satan and DGM since I wanted something similar to them and they made me manga fan XD I still watch anime, but mostly anime of manga series I liked.
I think I first saw it back in 2012 on a wiki i was linked to and never got it again after that.
I remember watching HOTD when the OVA still wasn't out and Gurren Langam, I think it was ongoing. Dunno when that even ended really, I forgot about it after some epiodes :D. I haven't been an animanga fan for years though so yeah..I think I even watched Bleach right after they stopped doing the anime, sometime in 2012. I dropped the animes I was watching and didn't start any new ones for a year's time or more because I wasn;t interested but this season i picked up Haikuyy and Baby Steps animes until I can be arsed to read their manga versions. This season actually has some good series apparently, other than some mecha I don't care about, it has the two I mentioned, JoJo part 3, Mushishi season two after how many years. Also I heard Nanatsu no Taizai's getting an anime, can't say I'm glad for that though :/ The series is still too short.
So you seems you got quite hooked in manga for such short period :> The problem with being relatively new to manga/anime is that you have such huge backlog, and it's hard to keep up with everything or chose what to start first.
Yeah, this season got a few good ones and looks like the next seasons will also have few good too. I remember you started a Kiseijuu wiki, right? It was announced that it will get anime and movies, so you should definitely get some editors there. I still haven't watched the new Mushishi, as I wasn't big fan of the first. Yup, Nanatsu was announced it's getting anime and I'm too not so happy about it. It's really cool that it gets one, but it's 1 year too early and it's doubtful to be more than 26 eps.
Yeah, that's true. I've been trying to read as many good series as I can but my list is never ending. I have like 100 series with over 100 chapters in my list to read so it's very hard to keep up..I'll probably be done with it in 2016 :D
Yeah I'm aware of Parasyte's upcomind Live action films and anime series but even though I did start Parasyte wiki, I never edited it. It's like my most unedited wiki ever, only has an empty main page andd nothing else. I have been meaning to start editing on there, but I'm too lazy to do that without any help, and nobody I ask to help me accepts :D I will go and make a few pages on there these days though. I should also go back to editing w:c:shinmai-maou-no-keiyakusha even though I dislike this kind of series because of the upcoming anime of it.
Good luck then, until 2016 you will have a new backlog of 2014-2016 series and many other that are still ongoing XD
Oh, just checked it and yeah, only the main page XD Kinda reminds me of my recent wiki's I started XD For the moment I won't be able to help, since I want to do some things on other wikis first. And I also will need to re-read the manga, since I read it so long ago, that I almost don't remember what was happening.
Lol? I though you liked that series and wiki XD Just by looking at the girls from the first image in the slider, I got a message: "you shouldn't read that manga" XD Looking at some of the pics, it looks good, but looking at the female characters, it reminds of series I don't like XD
True, I'll still fall behind :D I know people that read too much but they started things like Toriko when the first chapter was out, so yeah, it's not hard to be reading too much that way :D
About Parasyte wiki, well, help would be appreciated whenever, I have had that wiki for months already anyway and made zero progress in it. I also want to finish reading that mangaka's other main series named Historie which is about ancient Greece and the likes, I'm not sure if you've read it. A Helper I know recently adopted the wiki so I want to go edit it.
I don't like that series, I honestly dunno why I made that wiki in the first place. Actually, if I remember correctly I made it because I was originally planning to found UQ Holder wiki but I wasn't fast enough or something like that lol :P It's classic ecchi romance light novel adaptation, which is a nono for me. Too much ecchi, plot is too bad but other people liked it and got me to work hard for that wiki.. Now it's even in my top 4 most edited wikis :D
Yeah, I'm reading too much myself, but since I read most of them since quite some time, I'm able to keep up. Or just leave some series to get some chapters and then read them in one go when I want to read something.
I have read 1 volume, I think. That was all that was translated at that time and still haven't continued it XD Saw that adoption request, since it came up during a time I was awaiting for my adoption to be dealt with.
Lol, that's strange already XD I was thinking you like it, since saw you have edited it a lot. Ecchi romance light novel adaptation is enough for me to ignore it then XD Yeah, I was beat few times too, but most of them were after I was sitting and wondering if I should make a wiki about it or not. Then checking for days or weeks if someone will make a wiki and just when I'm on the verge to start it, someone had already done it XD That's why I decided to start some wikis early. Luckily so far I haven't made a wiki that I'm not really interested. I usually prefer historical or fantasy actions.
Thinking about it again, UQ Holder would had been fine without a wiki if it instead had all the info about it in Negima wiki, like I'm still wonderig whether I should make a Fuuka wiki or if the info will go on Suzuka wiki. That wiki is active though so that's cool I guess. I don't like making wikis about unscanlated manga because, unless they are in a very popular magazine like WSJ, it's not sure if they will ever get scanlated. And while not being out in english, there will be no other contributros which makes it boring.
But I also like to make wikis only about action series even though I wouldn't say no to a good romance manga or a drama slice of life or sports manga or even a good smut, since i dunno what to do on a wiki like Nisekoi for example. Iris Zero must be my only non action wiki, in which content already existed and I'm fairly inactive on there :P But still there are action series for which I just wouldn't be able to make wikis about, like Ichi the Killer or Shimauma, you just can't make wikis out of them :D And then, you see wikis about things like Billy Bat which, as expected, are dead since the whole manga is a mindfuck :D
It could work both ways, mainly depends if it can be on it's own. If you didn't need Negima story to understand UQ Holder, then you can make a wiki about it. I didn't liked Negima, so I didn't even bothered with UQ Holder.
My excitement is just big, so I go and make a wiki about unscanlated stuff XD Since I also follow some series as raws only. There are many awesome mangas that are not translated and may not be. I'm fine being alone at a wiki, it can be boring like you said and sometimes it really is, but you can go on your own pace and not feeling you need to help out other editors, even though you can't at the moment. And not being translated, means you don't have to invest much time.
Yeah, I also think I'm only on 1 not action oriented wiki XD One Outs. Yeah I can also read other genres, as long the manga is interesting. Yeah if you try making a wiki about those 2, it will feel kinda strange, since you can't make a proper wiki about it. I tried Shimauma when they started translating it, but it just didn't feel my type. Billy Bat, I haven't read a new chapter since quite some time now XD
Never read Negima, when UQ Holder started being scanlated it didn't say anywhere it was a sequel so I read it, liked it and decided to follow it. It doesn't have many Negima references right now other than the main character being Negi's grandson and his adoptive mother being a Negima character.
Yeah I know you feel more relaxzed editing a wiki alone but there are many things on a wiki I can't do, like adding text content. I'm really bad at that and I honestly don't wanna kill how many hours of my day just to type text nobody will read ._. That's why I usually ask other people I know they are into writting to help me out but they don't always do :D
Oh One Outs, I've heard things about that and I suppose that it's cool since it's from a manga that has another great series but I'm not really interested in it because I know nothing about baseball... Yet I love Rookies :D
Oh and I also started Shimauma in July I think, when they started scanlating it but I had totally forgotten about it until today :D Just read the chapters that were uploaded since I stopped, I must say I like it, I enjoy this kind of manga :D I wanted to read Aku no Hana since it's like that too but I heard that it's being cancelled in the next issue so nah
I really like this Billy Bat part, also I think that manga had the biggst plot twist I've seen. Killed the main character after almost 100 chapters saying "This wasn't really the main character, the kid he saved is" :| Haha
I see, but if the main character's type is close to Negi, than I definitely would skip UQ Holder for sure.
Yeah, I'm bad at that too and my english is not near perfect, so I got on a few places people complaining about it XD At least that means they have read it XD Sometimes I just want to give more complete look at a page and that's why I decide to write it myself. You at least have someone that you can ask, I don't XD
One Outs is pretty good, it feels like Kaiji/Akagi series. One Outs it's not a normal sport series, they don't go that deep in the sports field, but it's an mind game and they dealt with that in the games. Rookies is pretty awesome, I really liked it back then when I was reading it. But the I think there was a bigger pause in translation and I left waiting for translations. I think they finished it recently, but I still haven't picked it up again to finish it.
I may give Shimauma a second chance, but I think I even checked the raws and wasn't that interested in what was upcoming.
Haven't reached that part in Billy Bat, but I don't mind spoilers XD It can only excite me more to make me want to keep up with it again XD
I used to get that too, so I just stopped doing it :D I know, I want my pages to look more complete too but if I can't do it, I just wait for more people to join, if they ever will.
Oh, never heard about that, I thought it was just a classic sports manga.. :O Then I'd give it a shot. Rookies scanlations were finished in December I think, I was waiting for them to finish in order to read it..but I'm not fully caught up to it yet because I have been busy. I can't say for sure if it is better because I never got far in it, but I enjoy Rookies more than GTO. Ah, and totally more than Denpa Kyoushi, which i pretty much dropped.
Well, it's nothing you should totally check out but I enjoy it.
Whoops, sorry, that chapter was a while ago so I thought you had read it >_> Well, Billy Bat is on a pretty good part right now, I can't wait for the new chapters.
Yeah, I'm awaiting too. I had the desire to do it for Terra Formars, but after 2-3 chapters, my desire left me XD
He is playing baseball, but it's mind games and gambling. I think I'm on v17 or something of Rookies. In reality it was so long ago, that even if I pick up from 12th volume I may not remember some stuff XD In the beginning Rookies was more about delinquents and stuff, but later it focused more on sport. But it was still pretty cool. I'm not big fan of GTO and Denpa Kyoushi, I dropped that at the 1st chapter XD
Yeah, I also really enjoy some series that a lot of other people don't. I don't really care about that, as long as I like it.
No problem, I haven't read Billy Bat since some time. I actually put a lot of series on pause, due to lack of time, since I couldn't keep up with everything every day due to work and other stuff. So I keep up on some series, when I get the chance.
Hmm, One Outs sounds very good, I should check it out some time. Well, that mangaka's art is just suitable for delinquent stuff so it would be a waste not to add any in Rookies :P I love Rokudenashi Blues as well, wish they will catch up to the raws soon but they are over 300 chapters behind so it's not likely they will in these years :D That artist and Inoue Takehiko must be my favorite ones, both art wise and plot wise.
I also put many things on hold because I don't have much time for them or just don't feel like reading that specific thing. I guess I'll catch up to them some time but there are a few series like The Breaker or Sun-ken Rock that I haven't touched for over a year so I don't think I ever will again :D
Yeah, I'm not complaining about having delinquents, I like such stories and for example really love Crows (the continuation of Worst was still pretty awesome, but not as much as Crows). I just meant that in the beginning it was more delinquent stuff, while later become more sport stuff.
Good to see that you are not one of those types that think some author is the best, but he have made only 1 good series. An example would be Oda, who have made only 1 more lengthy series. Not sure if I have favourite author, but I have few that I like of their multiple series: Nobuyuki Fukumoto (Kaiji/Akagi and other gambling stuff); Seishi Kishimoto (666Satan/Blazer Drive/Kurenai no Ookami); Nobuhiro Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin/Buso Renkin/Embalming/Gun Blaze West); the korean combo of Shin Angyo Onshi/Defense Devil/Burning Hell/Area D (illustrator only); Masasumi Kakizaki (Rainbow/Green Blood/Hideout/Toujuushi), really awesome artwork, sometimes his story telling is not the best thing, but I can read his works only because of his artwork.
Yup, sometimes you are not in the mood for certain series or want to read certain type of series. I too won't continue The Breaker for sure. For Sun-ken Rock, I may continue it too, only because the artwork is good XD For the same reason I finished Air Gear, which turned lame in the end, but the art was great. But his new work Trinity Biorg is soo weird, that I probably won't continue it.
Yeah, I know you didn't mean you disliked the delinquents part. Hmm Crows is one of the good delinquent manga I still haven't got to read, there are some bad ones too like Hareluya II BØY and also things like Beelzebub and A-Bout that are gag focused.
I think I've read a few chapters of Akagi but I still haven't touched Kaiji even though I've heard great things about it. Nobuhiro Watsuki is a great manga and artist, Green Blood and Toujuushi had great art too, not tried RAINBOW though yet. The illustartion of Area D and Zombiehunter didn't amaze me but I didn't know they did Shin Angyo Onshi as well, that series is meant to be great. I also really enjoy the old WSJ art of Hara, Miyashita Akira (the one that made Otokojuku and some other short series) and the likes.
I like Boichi's art but overall Sun-ker Rock looks really meh to me, I don't think I'm continuing it anytime soon. I might when it ends.. The only thing I've tried of Air Gear's mangaka is Tenjou Tenge but I didn't get very far in it because I read other things.
Crows have quite a lot of comedy too, it's not gag, but looking at their dumb faces and things they do, you can't help but start laughing XD Haven't finished Beelzebub, I got annoyed at when Hilda lost her memory for a 2nd time and was like: "not this crap again" and stopped reading it. Hear later it was for shorter period than the first time, but wasn't excited to return reading it.
Yeah, Kaiji and Akagi are his best works and they are really good. He also have other good works like Kurosawa or Confession I think (was drawn about another author), 1 volume story. Yeah Watsuki is awesome, but I feel he will end Embalming pretty soon and do more Kenshin... Kenshin was awesome too, but I want something new, not more Kenshin... Rainbow is with another mangaka, it's drama about young boys. SAO is amazing, will remember final Munsu scenes forever XD And Hara is cult! Haven't read many series of Miyashita Akira, but his art do really reminds me of old Hara's and old Jojo's.
Yeah, I also may continue it when it ends, overall Sun-Ken is not that good, yup. Air Gear was fun in the beginning, then it went in some direction you are wondering what's happening and become totally boring, only his good artwork was that remained. His new manga is the same, you wonder what's happening XD Tenjou Tenge wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either, but still didn't mind wasting my time with it and the art have become better later in the story.
I also dropped Beelzebub around chapter 180, don't think I'll pick it up again any time soon.
Oh, hey, I read Confession and it was great, I wish I could find more manga like that. Kenshin was awesome indeed, not read Embalming because I've heard it's on hiatus. Gotta love Hara's/Araki's and Akira's art even though I haven't read too much JoJo.
I forgot to say, I also really enjoy the art of Flame of Recca and would be really interested in reading MAR some time too. GetBackers art also looks similar but I put that on hold for some reason...which I don't remember right now.
Hmm, I didn't expect to enjoy Air Gear in the first place but, knowing that, I don't think I'll ever try it :P
Yeah, Confession was great, I have read quite a lot of stuff, but then I need to think of something similar, I can't even remember any title XD You may try Hideout from Masasumi Kakizaki, 1 volume, interesting horror story (not nasty horror like Gyo, which I still liked XD). Embalming was on hiatus, but returned some months ago. It was on hiatus, due to author was drawing the new Kenshin manga. And there are some rumors that he prepares new kenshin project right now and looking at the raws of Embalming it do feels like the final showdowns are happening. But there is no new translation since quite some time. I don't like the new Jojolion, my fav part is 3rd and after 4-5th part I started to like is less.
Oh, I'm waiting for Anzai's new work, Flame of Recca was cool, MAR was more kiddy one and MiXiM wasn't that good, but I still wish to see he doing something new. GetBackers kinda got me bored at some point, as the authors other works. I also want to see Akimine's new work, since Samurai Deeper Kyo was good. Also liked her Shirogane no Karasu, but it was cancelled quickly. Code Breaker was boring as hell. But she is moving to seinen magazine next month, so I want to see what she will do. Kazuhiro Fujita also got some good series, like Ushio to Tora, Karakuri Circus (which for shame, wasn't fully translated) and his last work he ended Gekkou Jourei (which wasn't even touched by translators). Some other not bad series popped up in my mind right now, like Kurozuka & Threads of Time. Kurozuka anime totally went towards different direction. Oh, and recently I saw you added Bio-Meat to animanga. Pretty good series too, I was thinking of adding it since quite some time, but was always forgetting or being lazy XD
Oh, nver even heard of new Kenshin proeject, that would be good.
Has a new work for Anzai been announced? I'd totally like to read it. Yeah I didn't get into MiXiM from the first chapter but I didn't know MAR was kiddy :/ Yeah I've heard GetBackers isn't great but I still want to read it just forthe art alone. Never tried any of Akimine's works but I'll probablt read her new one. And oh, lol, I started reading Karakuri Circus today and I'm liking it so far. I had that bookmarked for a big while but I didn't pick it up because the scanlators had stopped. But it got new chaptes recently so I decided to read it. I've also been meaning to start Ushio to Tora, I believe I'll enjoy it a lot. Never heard of Kurozuka but it looks worth a read. Bio Meat, erm I like it but I got kind disgusted at some point so I haven't finished it yet. I will some of these days, though.
Unfortunately, still no Anzai news. MAR actually is not really kiddy, but it gives sort of that impression. It kinda feels like Rave. Oh, really? I actually have missed that it got new chapters. Gonna go and download them. I really like how the kyuubi is drawn in Ushio to Tora . Kurozuka can be little timeline confusing, since it drifts through time periods.
Oh Unok, on an unrelated side-note, can you give me your thoughts on something? I have been trying to make footers about more manga magazines and such as you must have noticed (and btw thanks for adding the logos for YJ and Afternoon, I couldn't seem to find them..) So I am trying to work out something about w:Template:ShonenSundayWikis. That one has all the ongoing series but there are many many wikis about completed series of that magazine. What do you think we should do about them? Make a separate footer/make a new section for them/don't give a fuck about them at all? :P I'm asking since I just can't figure out a good way to do it.
I think Gan Kon wasn't part of the magazine anymore. Otherwise, yeah I noticed. Making new template, may not be the best options, since it separates the stuff, although you can always put a link stating "for complete check that template" and on the complete "for ongoing check that template". Maybe something like ShonenJumpWiki, but in my opinion that one is horrible. It wastes way to much space and adds lines that makes it way too high. So maybe same scrollbox like ShonenJump, but 2 times smaller (instead of 4 lines, only 2 to be seen). Maybe also making everything in smaller font, so to not waste that much space. Or maybe even an show/hide table for completed series. Ah, just realized that show/hide may not work, due to missing on community. Oh, just checked and they actually have it.
Hmm, I also find the WSJ template horrible; too high and unorganized, that's why I didn't want to do something like that. Well, thanks for the suggestions, I guess I'll try a variety of designs on my test wiki and do what looks the best.
Thanks. How could I forgot about Ushio XD And I will probably be getting rights there soon.
Thanks. When I look at the wordmarks, it always feels like I made more than that and that there are not that many. But after your comment I went and counted them and it felt they are way too many XD Although some are just another version of same wordmark. But with this speed, I will likely hit 100 this year XD
Well, when you know the people it's actually easy :>
For Illegal Rare Wiki, don't know, I don't care much either, the series kinda lost it's charm. I like getting rights on the wikis I edit, but I rarely ask for them, especially for a series I don't care much right now. I'm getting too much wikis, and I haven't edited on some from quite some time (luckily half and more are complete series or no new chapters from quite some time) XD I will probably only be editing on IR Wiki from time to time.
I'm Lucas with the Fandom Anime Content Team, which is basically a group that works to improve and maintain the quality of anime focused wikis. I was just reaching out to see if its alright for me to make some edits to some pages in order to up their readability and reformat a few articles to make the wiki easier to navigate?
I run the Vinland Saga Wiki account on twitter (https://twitter.com/VinlandSagaWiki). Although being an affiliate is not necessary (thoough an option) I wanted to ask if it is ok for me to link the Vinland Saga Wikia page on the twitter bio regardless? Asking for permission basically. I run the page on my own at the moment but welcome anyone one else who wants to join and help out as I am not always available ofcourse. Naturally people will associate the two so feel free to let me know if you are ok with the account being associated with this page.
I am one of the admins from the Overlord Wiki who is seeking to affiliate it with the Vinland Saga Wiki. I am asking your permission if it's possible for our two wikis to be affiliated together? If the request is approved, here is the Overlord Wiki's Wordmark to be provided ahead of time.
I'm the admin of the Houseki no Kuni wiki, and I would like to offer to be affiliates with the Vinland Saga wiki, since we are from the same magazine. Feel free to message me back whenever you get the chance. Thank you and have a great day
