Appearance[]
Mui'n is an imposing older adult. The left side of his face is deeply scarred by three long claw marks, one going over his empty left eye socket. He is missing a bottom tooth. He wears a bear pelt over his clothes; the head, cut below the nose, covers his own, and the front paws are tied at his neck so that the pelt can be worn like a cape.
Personality[]
Mui'n is an opportunistic fighting man who believes war is the answer. Despite Miskwekepu'j's warnings about disease, Mui'n believes that the natives should be able to loot the Nords' things as proper compensation after risking their lives to attack them. When Thorfinn tells them the settlers will voluntarily leave Vinland, he is distrustful and disagrees both with Miswekepu'j's acceptance and his granting of over half a year for them to leave, still wishing for war and believing that the Nords will take that time to fortify themselves. Miskwekepu'j deduces that Mui'n wants the weapon that cut through his hand. Mui'n thinks highly of himself and believes that only a righteous person such as him should have that kind of power and use it to "preserve order".
History[]
Mui'n is first seen at the meeting of tribes set up by Miskwekepu'j to discuss what must be done about the Nords. He agrees with Miskwekepu'j about driving them back across the ocean, but disagrees when he says their homes, belongings and fields must be burned and thrown away to cleanse the earth. If they are to risk their lives driving out the Nords, Mui'n wants to get something in return, and believes the Nords have a lot of nice things they could take. Miskwekepu'j tells him the illness is not to be taken lightly, and that the Nords' possessions must not be touched. Mui'n points out that Miskwekepu'j is a shaman, not a warrior, and that it's not his place to talk about war affairs. When Thorfinn says the Nords will evacuate voluntarily, Miskwekepu'j agrees to hold off the attack until spring, by which time the Nords must have left. Mui'n tells him he can't make that decision on his own and that giving them more than half a year is a mistake; he insists that they should attack now. Miskwekepu'j retorts that attacking is a last resort and that avoiding attacking is best, as not coming into contact with the Nords will lower their risk of getting sick. Mui'n points out that the Nords have powerful weapons and claims that they will use the time to fortify themselves instead of leaving quietly; he wants to attack them by surprise now, as it'll definitely succeed. Niskawaji'j translates for Thorfinn, Einar and Bug-Eyes: Mui'n likes fighting, wants the Nords' things, and says the natives should fight. Miskwekepu'j tells Mui'n that he understands his feelings and that he knows he wants the powerful weapon that cut off his hand. Mui'n claims that only a righteous person like himself should have that kind of power and use it to preserve order.
