Revision as of 20:22, 31 December 2019 by Lightning Laxus(Message Wall | contribs)(The arc ends with Siggy's parting; the new arc begins with Thorfinn's return. There's no ambiguity about this because there's a 2 year time-skip between the two. Using page numbers should cleanly define the arcs within 165.)
Vinland Saga is divided into four parts: War arc (戦争編 Sensō-hen), Slave arc (奴隷編 Dorei-hen), Eastern Expedition arc (東方遠征編 Tōhō ensei-hen), and the final arc unofficially titled Vinland arc.[1] The War arc is considered the prologue of the series. Makoto Yukimura claims the last arc will have over 1000 pages and 50 chapters.[1]
After witnessing his father's death as a boy, Thorfinn vows revenge on Askeladd and "joins" Askeladd's band in hopes for an honorable duel to the death. However, Askeladd and Thorfinn find themselves in a war between Denmark and England, with a dangerous foe hunting them down and a royal prince to protect.
Sold into slavery, Thorfinn meets and befriends fellow slave Einar at Ketil's Farm. Together, they work towards their freedom as Thorfinn reflects upon his past. Meanwhile, King Canute begins his plan of making paradise on Earth and deals with the Curse of the Crown.
Thorfinn returns home for the first time in years. In order to fund his and Einar's dream of Vinland, he must travel east to Greece. Along the way, he meets severalnewallies who join him on his journey, but following them on their tail is Sigurd, the son of Halfdan.
